The I.R.S. Invites YOU to learn about becoming a Washington, D.C. metropolitan area Volunteer Tax Preparer…

The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) service is a community cause that prepares more than 3 million free individual income tax returns nationwide each year. Low-income families, seniors, and other vulnerable populations receive free tax preparation assistance from local I.R.S. certified volunteer tax preparers. The I.R.S. partners with local community action agencies to implement and deliver service during the tax season. Tax professionals may earn continuing education credits for volunteer hours. Students may be eligible for academic credit with their school’s approval. High school students may be eligible to volunteer. New tax law changes are taught to all volunteers via an I.R.S. training curriculum. Join us September 12th to learn how you can become a local volunteer for the 2020 filing season!
